What’s going on around the world?

On Oct. 8, President Bush spoke to the nation about the conflict with Iraq. It arises directly from the Iraqi regime's own actions, its history of aggression and its drive toward an arsenal of terror. Bush said that Saddam Hussein is a threat to peace and must disarm.
The Iraqi regime possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons.
Bush said that the Iraqi regime must reveal and destroy all existing weapons of mass destruction.

The use of America's military, if it proves necessary, will be used to enforce U.N. Security Council demands. The resolution will tell the United Nations, and all nations, that America speaks with one voice and is determined to make the demands of the civilized world mean something.

“The Sniper” killed ten and injured three in the Washington D.C. area before being caught by the police. The suspects, caught with the smoking rifle, were John Muhammad and John Lee Malvo. Murder charges have been made from prosecutors in both Maryland and Virginia.
