Just relax and smell the roses

Rebecca Boucher, Charger Staff

The noise dies down, the people vanish, and the rays from the spotlight intensify. All that’s left is you. In a room... Alone... What a frightful situation... When applying this vision to life, living alone is not an option
for most people.

The danger in dependency is huge. Most people don’t even consider not “finding their soulmate,” but just as the single lifestyle isn’t for everyone, neither is the married lifestyle. Absolutely nothing is wrong with living alone until you’re thirty, fifty, or even....forever!!

So as Valentine’s Day approaches, enjoy it whether you receive a smattering of sweetheart gifts or not. If your boyfriend doesn’t buy you anything, or if you don’t even have a boyfriend, rather than being blue, buy candy and flowers for yourself. If you’re dying for a love letter, write one and send it to yourself from a secret admirer.

Valentine’s Day can be exciting and wonderful even if no one takes part in it but you. This special day is only as fun as you make it--the choice is yours.
