The Santa Clause 2: a sequel worth seeing

Doug Hensley, Charger Staff

While on an date with my girlfriend, we decided to see a movie. She said, “Let’s just see The Santa Clause 2,” so I bought the tickets.

Scott Calvin’s (Tim Allen) son, Charley (Eric Lloyd), is getting into trouble with his principal, an attractive but stern woman.

Scott, meanwhile, is shown the Santa “clause” in the fine print he didn’t read carefully. If he doesn’t find a suitable Mrs. Claus by Christmas Eve, he can no longer be Santa. He has to find the right woman and get married in less than a month.

He must leave the North Pole but has no one to leave in charge at a crucial point in Christmas toy production.
An elf shows Santa his new invention that duplicates things, and Santa duplicates himself. Unfortunately, this fake Santa turns out to be real baddie.

Back home, Scott is falling in love with Charley’s principal. He does all of these sweet things for her to try and win her heart but using much of his “magic” to do so.

Scott is warned about the evil Santa and the evles tell him to return home. When he gets there, he finds the evil duplicate Santa leaving to deliver “gifts” of coal to children around the world.

Does he save the day? Who is Chad the reindeer? Do Scott/Santa and the lady principal marry and live happily ever after as Mr. and Mrs. Claus?

Sorry, you’ll just have to go see the movie to find out.
