COOKEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
MENTOR/MENTEE PROGRAM
All non-tenured teachers (as well as new teachers to Cookeville High School) are assigned a primary and secondary mentor. Faculty member, Laura Carter, heads the program and is assisted by Aliene Click. She makes assignments, collects documentation, and is directly involved with the mentees. Mentors fulfill advisement responsibilities to mentees in areas of instructions, administration, procedures, and strategies. Mentors visit mentee’s classrooms as many times as necessary to fulfill documentation obligations and will be an advocate for the mentee, as the mentor will directly be involved in the evaluation process. In-service points will be awarded to all participants who fulfill appointed obligations.
