CHS Library Policies
Scheduling the Library:
A calendar is maintained by the library staff to reserve library space for classes. Due to space limitations, faculty members are required to schedule in advance. Two classes can be scheduled per period. Classroom teachers must accompany classes during scheduled library times. A substitute teacher cannot being a class to the library. There is a separate calendar for scheduling in the library reading room and library computer lab. Classroom teachers may send a student out of class to work in the library if the student has a note from that teacher. No more than four students from any one class at a time should be sent.
CHS Library Memorial Book Program:
The memorial program is available to those who wish to honor a special person or can be used in lieu of funeral flowers. Any holiday or special occasion can be celebrated by the giving of a book. If you wish to participate in this program, you may do so by consulting with Mrs. Poteet as to an appropriate subject area or a specific title. Book selections will be ordered and processed in a timely manner. All memorial gifts will be personalized with an appropriate book plate, and family members will receive a notification.
Professional Library:
A professional library for CHS faculty is maintained in the library. Professional materials are available along with a selection of books for pleasure reading. There is a computer equipped with to access to MacSchool, Internet, and a printer. Teachers may come to the faculty library if they need a quiet place to plan lessons, read, or use the computer during regular school hours. No scheduling is required.
