Cookeville High School offers special education classes to students ranging from mentally and physically challenged to gifted.  Due to the many federal laws and regulations, it is very important that all teachers observe and follow these laws and regulations to the fullest extent.
The following items pertaining to our special education students must be followed:

1. Attending IEP meetings.

2. Filling out student consultation forms in a timely manner as requested by the special education department.

3. Following student’s individual education plans (IEP) exactly as written.

4. Communicating with the special education department concerning special education students in your class that may be having academic or social problems.

5. Making recommendations to the special education department any students in your class that you feel would qualify for special help.

NOTE: The above mentioned are federal laws, and you must follow them!!!
