What are the signs and symptoms of H1N1 virus?
The symptoms of H1N1 flu virus include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting.
Know What to Do About the Flu:
* Cover your cough (e.g., cough into your sleeve, not hands)
* Wash your hands frequently
Those with flu should stay home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever of 100 degrees or more, without the use of fever-reducing medicines.
Keeping children with a fever of 100 degrees or more at home will reduce the number of people who may get infected.
Putnam County school officials have met with the school system’s cleaning service, GCA Services, and they are making extra efforts to fight and prevent the spread of H1N1.
