November 2009

Dear Parents,

The Cookeville High School PTSO is having another great year and hopes you will join us in becoming an integral part of your child's high school experience. More than 2,200 students are enrolled at CHS this year. You are still needed to help make this year a successful, happy and safe one for your child!

CHS has an active structured parent volunteer program. Every week 40 - 50 volunteers spend time at CHS. Volunteers assist with clerical work in the main office, attendance office and counseling center as well as host various hospitality functions. If you would like more information on how to volunteer you may call Kim Wise at 372-9044.

In addition to your time we also need your financial support. Rather than asking students and parents to sell items, we are asking parents and other interested CHS supporters for a one-time annual monetary donation to help support our students and faculty. This request is the only way we raise funds.

Every year we provide support by hosting the bonfire during football season, the teacher appreciation luncheons, donate to the "Character Counts" program, senior picnic and honors banquet in addition to other activities that directly impact CHS students. In the past we have paid for security cameras, materials for the teachers' resource library, improvements to name a few. These additional projects depend entirely on your support and how much money we are able to raise. Any amount you can give, however large or small, will be appreciated and put to good use.

Checks should be made out to CHS-PTSO and may be mailed to 1 Cavalier Drive, Cookeville, TN 38501. You may also deliver directly to the main office at CHS. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Officers of the PTSO

Lissa Parks, President
